Ayan Kalra

After being diagnosed with MOGAD at age 12, Ayan Kalra saw how difficult it could be for families to find clear, understandable information about a rare condition. That experience became the starting point for MIND: the MOGAD Initiative for Navigation and Direction.

MIND was created to translate credible medical information into language patients, caregivers, and families can actually use. Through educational resources, plain-language explanations, and advocacy, Ayan’s work focuses on helping others feel less alone after a new diagnosis.

His children’s book, The Gray Cloud, extends that mission through story. It gives young readers a compassionate way to understand uncertainty, medical testing, and hope.
